Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer to perform exterior patrol duties in Normal, IL. You will provide customer service, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and maintain a visible presence to deter security risks.

The role requires punctuality, reliability, and a focus on safety across automotive, warehouse, and perimeter areas. The position offers full-time hours, a daytime to evening shift rotation, and a starting pay of $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Exterior Patrol Driver in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in an automotive location, you will conduct routine vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate clearly, and deliver exceptional customer service. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout automotive manufacturing, warehouse, parking, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and vehicle traffic in accordance with site requirements, documenting observations and incidents accurately.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly work environment by communicating professionally with site personnel and contacting Allied Universal leadership and/or emergency services when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
