Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Bedford Park, IL to protect clients at a logistics and distribution site. You will perform routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and provide courteous customer service while reflecting the company’s values.

Shifts run Wed, Thu, Fri 2:00 PM–10:00 PM with pay rate of $18.50 per hour. You’ll respond to incidents, control access, and report observations to site management.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required per state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents and access-control concerns calmly, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shipping, receiving, parking, dock, trailer, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security observations, and communicate information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shipping, receiving, parking, dock, trailer, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
