Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in Sterling, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, support access control, and deliver exceptional customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.

You will use clear communication and technology to document activities, participate in emergency response, and uphold integrity and reliability within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply locally.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by following site policies and responding to incidents as appropriate.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location and verify visitor/contractor authorization per site procedures; report unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related activities and communicate information to site contacts and leadership.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $23.18 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM; Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM; Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report unusual activity or access-control issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and completed security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
