Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time, unarmed Security Guard to patrol logistics sites in Barrington, NJ. You will deliver customer service while maintaining a visible security presence and enforcing site procedures.

The role supports access control, reports incidents, and collaborates with a dedicated team. Schedule is fixed part-time with early morning shifts, aligned with client needs.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• State/county/city license preferred.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors and employees while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailers and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe inbound/outbound activity per site policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly, document observations and notify supervision.
• Report suspicious activity or policy violations to site leadership.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and site procedures. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.92 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Wed: 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Thur: 04:00 AM - 12:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailers, and the facility perimeter to help maintain a visible security-related presence.
• Monitor access points and observe inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian activity in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Report suspicious activity, property concerns, and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
