Job summary

Allied Universal in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a part-time Security Guard (Unarmed Patrol) to protect clients across Retail/Malls and other sites. You will patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, and deliver courteous customer service while upholding site policies.

The role offers flexible day/evening hours, a pay rate of $19.57 per hour, and opportunities to learn new shifts using our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

• Driver's license required only for driving positions.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, perimeter areas, and back-of-house spaces, as assigned.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help deter unauthorized access, theft, and other security-related concerns.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
