Security Officer Part-Time

Under general guidance, participates in the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of assigned areas. Ensures safety and security of employees, customers, contractors, and assets by patrolling, controlling access, responding to incidents and alarms, coordinating crisis responses, preparing reports, and assisting with unruly individuals. Monitors controls and manages interactions to optimize performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.

Qualifications

1. Certified with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA)
2. Maintain Federal Firearms Qualification annually
3. Minimum 3 years' law enforcement experience
4. Strong planning, organizing, interpersonal, and communication skills
5. Highly organized, self-sufficient self-starter
6. Complete all HR requirements including medical, criminal background, drug testing, and BMV checks
7. Active or retired law enforcement officer
8. Proficient with computers, access control systems, security cameras, incident reporting, and email

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure safety and security by patrolling, controlling access, responding to incidents, coordinating crisis responses, and reporting.
2. Serve as liaison with law enforcement.
3. Communicate incidents with the iSOC and management.
4. Participate in mandated training, including Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
5. Manage visitor check-in processes accurately.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Hours

1. Part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with schedules communicated in advance.
2. Availability for at least 32 hours per pay period.
