Security Officer Part-Time

Under general guidance, participates in the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of assigned areas. Assists in ensuring safety and security of employees, customers, contractors, and assets by patrolling facilities, controlling access, responding to incidents and alarms, managing crises, preparing reports, and assisting with unruly individuals. Monitors controls to optimize performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.

Qualifications

1. Certified with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA)
2. Maintain Federal Firearms Qualification annually
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a law enforcement agency
4. Strong planning, organizing, interpersonal, and communication skills
5. Highly organized, self-sufficient, self-starter
6. Complete all HR requirements including medical, background, drug testing, and BMV checks
7. Active or retired law enforcement officer
8. Proficient with computers, access control systems, security cameras, incident reporting, and email

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure safety and security through patrols, access control, incident response, crisis coordination, report preparation, and unruly individual management
2. Serve as liaison with law enforcement
3. Communicate activities and incidents with iSOC and management
4. Participate in mandated training, including Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)
5. Follow visitor management procedures accurately
6. Perform other duties as assigned

Working Hours

1. Part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on facility needs
2. Availability for at least 32 hours per pay period
