Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a Security Guard to monitor entrances, document daily activities, and respond to emergencies. The role will require patrolling premises, investigating disturbances, and ensuring the safety of doors and windows.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 6+ months of security experience. The position demands flexibility for scheduled hours and potential overtime, with ability to work in hot, cold, and rain conditions and to stand, walk, and lift repeatedly

• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments (hot, cold, rain).
• Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift.

Job Description

The Security Guard position will perform the following duties:

• Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Answers alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Circulates among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Answers telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary
