Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Guard Juvenile Center Control Access in Jamaica, NY. You will monitor entrances and patrol assigned areas, providing customer service and maintaining a secure environment at a government services location.

The role is full-time with a pay rate of $18.87 per hour. You will work a consistent schedule Mon–Fri 11:00 AM–07:00 PM, performing access-control duties and incident response as part of a

Qualifications

• 1 year or more of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public following site procedures and access-control protocols.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and notify appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and maintain logs and incident reports.

As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Mon: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Tue: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Wed: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Thur: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Fri: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control protocols, and emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, offices, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials and/or authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
• Support a respectful and professional environment for individuals and families receiving public services while reporting security‑related concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
