Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer – Enhanced in New York, NY. The role offers flexible hours with a fixed shift and opportunities to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform. The position supports incident response, access control, and patrols at a homeless services location.

Wage is $18.87 per hour, with a schedule including evening shifts. Prior security experience and a NYS Guard License are required, and a background check plus drug screening apply.

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsabilidades

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, entry points, common areas, and perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify authorization as required and maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.
• Support a respectful, professional environment at a government-operated homeless services location while communicating observed concerns to appropriate personnel.

How This Role Works

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
