Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in New York, NY. This flexible, dependable role offers reliable hours at an assigned site with opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts through the scheduling platform.

You will provide unarmed security, perform incident documentation, and support a safe, professional environment for residents, visitors, and staff across the venue, with anchor shifts and earning potential.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff and service providers per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, entry points, common areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization; maintain logs and incident reports.
• Support a respectful, professional environment at a government-operated homeless services location.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Incident Documentation in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Thur 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, entry points, common areas, and perimeter to help identify and report security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify authorization as required and maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation.
• Support a respectful, professional environment at a government‑operated homeless services location while communicating observed concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
