Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard (Full Time, Unarmed) in Columbus, OH to patrol and monitor government and commercial property, assist with access control, and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required per Allied Universal policy.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as condition of employment.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, employees, and transit patrons by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property, transit-adjacent areas, building interiors, parking facilities, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas; observe visitor and contractor activity; and report suspicious activity, hazards, property damage, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications, maintaining a professional presence while interacting with diverse members of the public.

What You’ll Do

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
