FerroWorks is seeking a Security Guard for the second shift in the Pittsburgh area. The role focuses on patrolling the grounds, monitoring cameras, and controlling access to the facility to prevent unauthorized entry.

The position requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and the ability to work Monday–Friday from 2pm to 10pm with flexibility for additional coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Consistent and predictable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Regularly patrol assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
• Observe and monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security breaches.
• Manage access to facilities by checking identification and granting or denying entry as needed.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances; assess situations and contact law enforcement if necessary.
• Prepare detailed incident reports for record-keeping and management review.
• Provide assistance to visitors and staff and maintain security protocols.

Security Guard for Second Shift. In this position you will monitor the grounds of the facility, and ensure that access is limited to those authorized to be on property. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Regularly patrolling assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity


• Observing and monitoring surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security breaches


• Managing access to facilities by checking identification and granting or denying entry as needed


• Responding promptly to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances; assess situations and take appropriate action, including contacting law enforcement if necessary


• Preparing detailed reports of incidents, observations, and activities for record-keeping and management review


• Providing assistance to visitors and staff; answering questions and ensure a positive experience while maintaining security protocols


• Understanding and implementing emergency response procedures for various scenarios, including fire, medical emergencies, or evacuations

Shift: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm, Must be able to be flexible to work multiple shifts to assist in providing coverage when needed

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age


• Proficient with Microsoft office suite, to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook


• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred


• Strong observational skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to remain calm under pressure


• Consistent and Predictable attendance is required

Working Conditions:

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.


• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays


• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
