Job summary

FerroWorks in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a full-time Security Guard for the second shift (2pm-10pm). You will patrol the grounds, monitor surveillance and access control, respond to alarms, and prepare incident reports.

You will assist visitors and staff, follow emergency procedures, and adapt to additional shifts as needed. Requirements include 18+, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
• Strong observational skills, effective communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Consistent and predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Regularly patrolling assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
• Observing and monitoring surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security breaches.
• Managing access to facilities by checking identification and granting or denying entry as needed.
• Responding promptly to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances, and contacting law enforcement if necessary.
• Preparing detailed reports of incidents, observations, and activities for records and management review.
• Providing assistance to visitors and staff and ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security protocols.
• Understanding and implementing emergency response procedures for various scenarios.
