Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Evening Shift Security Guard in Elkton, MD to protect and serve on a manufacturing/industrial site. You will patrol, monitor access, and provide customer service while maintaining a professional presence to deter incidents.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid is preferred. The position features an 3:00 PM–11:00 PM schedule with opportunities for training, growth, and benefits through Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check subject to federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen may be required.
• Must have valid driver’s license where required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors and visitors while following site-specific procedures and security protocols at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain logs and documentation per site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a calm, problem-solving manner following emergency procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Observe and report security concerns, hazards and violations to leadership and site representatives.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

• Mon: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Tue: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required logs and documentation in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Observe and report security-related concerns, hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
