Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Houston, TX. This role offers fixed anchor shifts at a designated site with a six‑month commitment, plus the opportunity to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by applying security procedures and site policies, and respond to emergencies when needed.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations calmly and follow site protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of facilities and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access control points, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and document entries and unusual activity.
• Report hazards and policy violations to site contacts and leadership.

Pay Rate: $14.71 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Tue 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, access points, perimeter areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations.
• Monitor access control points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and document entries, exits, and unusual activity in accordance with site requirements.
• Report hazards, damaged equipment, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• This is primarily a driving post.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
