Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced in Chicago, IL. This role provides fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, helping you balance work with personal commitments.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Allied Universal may consider applicants with criminal histories as permitted by law.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local regulations.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, vendors, and guests while following site-specific procedures and emergency response activities at a high-traffic commercial waterfront destination.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including public spaces, tenant areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, assisting with directions and information as needed.
• Respond calmly to incidents and disturbances; document observations and notify appropriate personnel or emergency responders.
• Maintain a visible, professional presence and communicate with site management and local authorities regarding security concerns.

• Sat: 11:50 PM - 07:50 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (\"Anchor Shifts\"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, vendors, and/or guests while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities at a high-traffic commercial waterfront destination.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including public spaces, tenant areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and delivery activity in accordance with site policies; assist with directions, wayfinding, and general information as needed.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and promptly notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Maintain a visible, professional presence and communicate clearly with site management, Allied Universal leadership, and local authorities regarding security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
