Job summary

Allied Universal in Miami, FL is seeking a Part Time Armed Security Guard to protect government facilities and support a customer-focused environment. You will patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide professional, courteous service to employees and the public.

The role offers flexible day shifts (e.g., 8:45 AM–4:45 PM and 7:00 AM–5:00 PM) with a pay rate of $22.89 per hour. You will carry required equipment and comply with post orders while maintaining a strong, visible security

Qualifications

• Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a college degree.
• Possess a Corrections Officer License.
• Possess a DD214 with an Honorable Discharge, an Associate Degree or 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements are state/local dependent.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors and the public while carrying out security procedures and post orders.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, grounds, access points and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances and critical situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials and report unauthorized entry attempts.
• Carry authorized equipment in compliance with laws and site procedures; complete incident reports.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized entry attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, site procedures, and Allied Universal policies; complete accurate incident reports and daily activity documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a college degree.
• Possess a Corrections Officer License.
• Possess a DD214 with an Honorable Discharge, an Associate Degree or 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
