Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Guard Armed Access Control Driver in Houston, TX. This role focuses on protecting government locations, managing entry points, verifying credentials, and delivering professional customer service.

You will patrol, respond to incidents, and maintain logs while using technology to support daily operations and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Three years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
• Armed guard card or license is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Industry-specific security training participation may be required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws; may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public via access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify IDs, issue visitor passes, and log access events.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with appropriate personnel and emergency services.
• Patrol government facilities and perimeter areas to identify policy violations or hazards.
• Communicate professionally with staff and leadership to deter unauthorized access.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Thur: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization credentials, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned government facilities, access points, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Communicate professionally with facility personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership while helping to deter unauthorized access and maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
