$18.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Position Objective

Our Security Officers support Harvard Protection in our goal of providing best in class security and life safety services. Our Officers are responsible for providing professional customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and the property they protect.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while leading staff and assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.Â
• Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.Â
• Monitor the environment to detect suspicious and unsafe activity.Â
• Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic, tenants, visitors, and guests.Â
• Answer phones professionally and perform audible announcements clearly.Â
• Enforce facility/building policies and procedures within the position's limits.Â
• Follow established emergency action plans, fire protection, and safety standards.Â
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.Â
• Perform operational functions such as scheduling, overtime management, and staff training when necessary.Â
• Test and inspect fire extinguishers and other fire protection devices to ensure compliance.Â
• Prepare reports on inspections, violations, and recommendations.Â
• Perform fire drills and additional safety duties as needed.Â
• May provide fire-fighting duties during emergencies and train others in emergency response plans.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

• State or municipality-mandated security officer licenses.Â
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.Â
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.Â
• Good organizational skills and time management.Â
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service environment.Â
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  
  

Compensation
