Job summary

South Portland Comprehensive Treatment Center in Maine is seeking a Clinic Safety Liaison (Security Guard) for full-time morning shifts (Tuesday–Saturday, 4:30 AM–1:00 PM). The role monitors people and vehicles entering and leaving the Clinic property, helps maintain a safe environment, and communicates concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Two years' experience in security, corrections, or military preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or patient-facing settings preferred.
• Comfortable working in an opioid treatment program/recovery environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all persons entering and leaving the Clinic property, including emergency vehicles and personnel.
• Interact with staff and patients in a professional manner at all times.
• Monitor parking and lobby areas to deter loitering and misconduct; report concerns to director immediately.
• Keep accurate notes of activities in clinic systems as required.
• Communicate regarding admissions, visits, and deliveries to appropriate staff.
• Perform light maintenance duties and repairs (touch-up painting, trash, light bulbs, spills cleanup).
• Perform regular safety checks (smoke detectors, locked doors, alarm systems).
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Your Job as a Clinic Safety Liaison (Security Guard)

The Clinic Safety Liaison/Security Guard is responsible for monitoring persons and/or vehicles entering or leaving the Clinic property. The role provides support to ensure a safe environment, is responsible for communicating all concerns to their supervisor, takes a lead role for various light maintenance and environmental services duties at the Clinic, and performs routine safety inspection of Clinic monitoring devices.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist, direct, and monitor all persons entering and leaving the Clinic property, including emergency vehicles and personnel.
• Interact with staff and patients in a professional manner at all times.
• Monitor parking area (at minimum of twice per hour) and lobby to ensure that no loitering or misconduct takes place; report all concerns to director immediately.
• Keep accurate notes reporting within various systems as outlined by Clinic standards.
• Communicate regarding incoming admissions, visits, and deliveries to appropriate staff.
• Perform light maintenance duties and repairs, including touch‑up painting, emptying and picking up trash, changing light bulbs, cleaning spills, and various repairs.
• Perform regular safety checks, including smoke detectors, locked doors, alarm systems, etc.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Your Education, Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Two years' experience in security, corrections, or military, preferred.
• Experience working in a healthcare or patient/customer facing setting, preferred.
• Must be comfortable working in an opioid treatment program/recovery environment.
