Job summary

Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is seeking a dedicated Security Guard to help keep our parks, trails, pools, facilities, and events safe and welcoming for everyone.

As a friendly face and first responder, you will patrol on foot, document incidents, assist visitors, and support community events in Round Rock, Texas. This full-time role requires certification, a Texas driver’s license, and flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Certification.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license (or obtain one after hire).
• Experience in customer-facing security roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrols of parks, trails, pools, and facilities on foot to deter and detect incidents.
• Responds to security incidents, provides assistance to visitors, and documents events in incident reports.
• Engages with residents and guests to promote safety and a welcoming environment at community events.
• Supports community programs, leagues, tournaments, and festivals with security presence.
• Maintains professional appearance and represents the District’s safety standards.

The Organization:

Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000+ residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community.

At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes.

Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members.

Minimum Requirements:

• Maintain current certification and license:
  • Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Certification
  • A valid Texas driver's license (or obtain one within a satisfactory time frame after hire in the case of out-of-state applicants)
  • American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
• Must be able to work flexible work schedules and irregular hours, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Minimum one-year experience as a non-commissioned security officer with a government organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to create and maintain accurate incident reports, records, audits and SOPs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

Schedule:

• Full-time position: 3:00 pm to 12:00 am. Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
