South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland is hiring part-time Security Guards/Smoking Attendants to ensure safety of residents, staff, and property while assisting residents with smoke breaks.

Shifts available are weekdays 5:30pm–8:30pm and weekends 9am–5pm, with weekly pay of $18 per hour. The role requires a high school diploma and security experience, and offers opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct an inventory of personal belongings on all admissions and safely remove and store any contraband.
• Conduct and document hourly rounds of the facility and grounds, report safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Report/document environmental concerns.
• Be present to assist residents struggling to manage emotions.
• Ensure visitors sign in, show ID, and conduct inventory searches.
• Conduct frequent checks with at-risk residents and document whereabouts and companions.
• Assist staff with room searches.
• May be assigned 1:1 supervision for a period of time.
• Assist residents with smoking, lighting materials, and transportation to the designated smoking area.
• Maintain a clean designated smoking area.
• Transport residents to and from the designated smoking area.
• Ensure residents maintain a safe smoking environment.

You ensure the safety and security of the residents, employees, facility, grounds, and equipment while also assisting residents with smoke breaks.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Security experience required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct an inventory of personal belongings on all admissions and safely remove and store any contraband.
• Conduct and document, as a minimum, hourly rounds of the entire facility and its grounds, and immediately report any safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Report/document environmental concerns.
• Be present and assist, if needed, if and when a resident may be struggling to manage emotions.
• Ensure visitors sign in, show identification, and conduct an inventory search.
• Conduct frequent checks with residents deemed as risk, including physically viewing residents’ whereabouts and documentation of where they are, what they are doing, and who, if anyone, they are with.
• Assist staff with room searches.
• May be assigned to a resident on a 1:1 basis for a determined period of time, including direct supervision at all times.
• Assist residents with smoking, lighting materials, and or help with transportation to and from the designated smoking area.
• Maintain a clean designated smoking area for residents.
• Transportation of the residents to and from the designated smoking area.
• Ensuring residents maintain a safe smoking environment.
