Job summary

North Saint Paul Maplewood & Oakdale School District 622 is seeking a Security Guard to supervise school sites during the day and after school, ensuring safety for students, staff, and visitors. Overview

Position: Security Guard

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day, 180 days per year

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: 26.52 per hour

Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities and Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist building-level administration with daytime and after-school site supervision to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, site guests, and district property through observations, interventions, timely incident reports, and input regarding safety policies and practices.
  • Implement the site security plan and regularly confer with administration to evaluate its impact on creating and sustaining a safe, respectful environment.
  • Patrol the assigned site inside and outside with sufficient frequency to monitor security status (doors, windows, gates, security devices, parking lot, grounds) and promptly report immediate or potential safety or security risks.
  • Respond to and intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behaviors creating security problems inside or outside the building as requested by administration or staff.
  • Contact parents when requested by administration to inform them of specific incidents involving a student family member and/or collect additional information.
  • Follow through on referrals made by staff regarding prevention of inappropriate or more serious delinquent behavior by enforcing building/district policies and procedures related to student discipline.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in security or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and security-related experience.
