Job summary

Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is seeking a Security Guard for its New London, CT facility. You will monitor all buildings/grounds, enforce rules, and ensure the safety and security of staff and patients.

This full-time 2nd shift position runs from 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm with weekend rotation. The role offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, a 401K match, and tuition-related programs within the UHS network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous security/safety officer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend shift report meetings at the start of each shift.
• Monitor all buildings/grounds.
• Enforce rules and regulations, including curfew. Check windows, doors, and locks.
• Inspect outside grounds for trespassers or unauthorized activity.
• Ensure company vehicle(s) at site are locked and secure.
• Complete documentation as required (rounds checklist, HPRs).
• Report on any outside maintenance issues including cleanliness of guest areas.
• Submit end of shift report daily, including incidents with supportive documentation and any contraband found.

Essential Job Functions

• At the beginning of each shift, attend shift report meetings.
• Monitor all buildings/grounds.
• Enforce rules and regulations, including curfew. Check all windows, doors, and locks
• Inspect outside grounds for trespassers or unauthorized activity
• Ensure company vehicle(s) at site are locked and secure
• Complete documentation as required (rounds checklist, HPRs)
• Report on any outside maintenance issues including cleanliness of guest areas
• Submit end of shift report daily, to include: Incidents occurring during the shift (with supportive documentation), contraband (items found, location, in whose possession, location of confiscated items).

• This is a full-time, 2nd shift position (2:45 pm - 11:15 pm). Weekend rotation required.
