Constellis is actively hiring a Security Guard in North Carolina to protect personnel, property, and assets in a secure environment. This armed role requires carrying and operating firearms per policy and law, with professional conduct at all times.

Responsibilities include patrols, access control, incident reporting, and enforcing site protocols; shifts are 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, with possible extended hours and weather exposure.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm under federal and state law.
  • Must possess current NC PPSB Armed Security Guard Registration or be eligible to obtain one before assignment.
  • Must have and maintain valid NC Firearms Registration Permit through PPSB.
  • Must meet PPSB training, qualification, and background requirements.
  • Ability to obtain NC Guard Card.

  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and other critical situations.
  • Enforce company policies and site-specific security protocols.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports, logs, and documentation.
  • De-escalate conflicts and manage disturbances professionally.
  • Maintain licenses, permits, and weapon qualifications as required.
  • Complete training, firearms qualifications, and drills as required.
  • Adhere to use-of-force policies and safety standards.
  • Support emergency response operations and business continuity.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Shift hours: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM; extended hours may be required.
  • Work outside in variable weather; frequent interruptions and field work.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Guard is responsible for protecting personnel, property, and assets while maintaining a safe and secure environment. This role includes monitoring site activity, controlling access, responding to incidents, and enforcing security procedures. As an armed security position, personnel are required to carry and operate firearms in the performance of assigned duties in accordance with company policy, contract requirements, and applicable laws, while exercising sound judgment and professionalism at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Protect personnel, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Carry and operate firearms in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable laws.
  • Conduct patrols and monitor premises using surveillance systems, access control points, and other security measures.
  • Control and authorize the entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and authorized personnel.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and other critical situations.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and site-specific security protocols.
  • Maintain situational awareness and identify potential security risks, hazards, or suspicious activities.
  • Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports, logs, and other required documentation.
  • Follow the established chain of command and comply with all lawful directives from supervisors and management.
  • De-escalate conflicts and manage disturbances in a professional, calm, and controlled manner.
  • Ensure the proper handling, storage, maintenance, and accountability of assigned weapons and equipment.
  • Maintain all required licenses, permits, certifications, and weapon qualifications in accordance with contract requirements and applicable laws.
  • Successfully complete and maintain all required training, firearms qualifications, certifications, drills, and physical fitness standards.
  • Adhere to all use‑of‑force policies, weapons handling procedures, and safety standards.
  • Support emergency response operations, including evacuations, crisis management, and business continuity efforts.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and standard of conduct at all times.
  • Shift hours are Monday–Sunday 6:00AM – 6:00PM, or 6:00PM to 6:00AM, but extended or holiday hours may be required.
  • Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment to field work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold, and humidity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma and one year of previous security, military or equivalent law enforcement experience required.
  • Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm under federal and state law.
  • Must possess a current North Carolina PPSB Armed Security Guard Registration Permit or be eligible to obtain one prior to assignment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Firearms Registration Permit issued through the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (PPSB).
  • Must meet all PPSB training, qualification, and background requirements for armed security personnel.
  • Ability to obtain a North Carolina Guard Card.
  • NCPPSB qualified preferred.
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, and responding to emergency situations.
  • Must be able to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license and satisfactory driver record.
  • Must be willing to operate a Company vehicle.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
