Job description

We are hiring a part-time Security Guard to join our dynamic care team at The Oxford Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Haverhill!

Schedule is Friday 11p-7a and Saturday and Sunday 3p-11p. Weekly pay starting at $16 an hour.

As our Security Guard, you assure the safety and security of the residents, employees, facility, facility grounds, and equipment, and to assist in minor maintenance functions in the absence of the Maintenance Assistant and the Director of Environmental Services.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Security experience and/or a general background in repairs and maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct an investor of personal belongings on all admissions and safely remove and store any contraband.
• Conduct and document hourly rounds of the facility and its grounds and report any safety concerns.
• Assist staff with room searches.
• May be assigned to a resident on a 1:1 basis.
• Respond to all emergency pages and escort responding providers to emergency location.
• Be present and assist, if needed, if and when a resident may be struggling to manage emotions.
• Ensure visitors sign in, show identification, and conduct an inventory of personal items brought in.
• Document behaviors.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must have general knowledge of repair and maintenance practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines as they pertain to long-term care.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must have patience, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations using effective problem-solving techniques.
