Job summary

Silver Star Protection Group is seeking a Full-time Armed Security Guard for a site in Glassboro, NJ. The role includes weekend/evening shifts with pay at $20.00 per hour, and requires a valid SORA and firearm ownership. You will patrol assigned areas, monitor surveillance, and report incidents per client protocols.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong situational awareness, solid communication, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies while maintaining professionalism on site.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Active SORA required.
• Must own a firearm with a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Experience in armed security preferred.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Capability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at the assigned client site(s), ensuring safety of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Be available to work various shifts and client sites as needed; schedule and locations may change based on client needs.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff; communicate to foster a secure environment.
• Conduct regular patrols of the assigned site and monitor surveillance equipment per client protocols.
• Accurately document incidents, security breaches, or irregularities and promptly report them.

Position Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for providing security services at a client site(s) during scheduled shifts. The guard's schedule, site assignments, and hours are subject to change based on client needs, staffing requirements, call-offs, and contract adjustments. While SSPG strives to accommodate preferred schedules, flexibility is essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide security services at the assigned client site(s), ensuring the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Be available to work various shifts and client sites as needed. Schedule and locations may change depending on client needs, staffing requirements, or other operational factors.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff. Ensure that all communication fosters a positive and secure environment.
• Conduct regular patrols of the assigned site and monitor surveillance equipment, ensuring adherence to the client’s security protocols.
• Accurately document any incidents, security breaches, or irregularities, and promptly report them to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active SORA Required.
• Must own a firearm with a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Previous armed security or related experience preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Capability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Schedule and Availability

• Guards are expected to work scheduled shifts at their assigned client sites.
• Shifts, site assignments, and schedules are subject to change based on client and SSPG needs.
• Flexibility is required to work additional shifts, including on-call or emergency coverage when needed.
