Job Summary
The Security Guard's duties are to observe and report safety or security concerns on DAP Health grounds. The Security Guard acts as a visible deterrent to crime, monitors the grounds for suspicious activities, and watches for any criminal acts or safety issues.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Monitor building entrances, including arrivals and departures of employees, visitors, and others to prevent theft and ensure security;
- Cover the welcome desk as needed;
- Monitor security cameras for inappropriate activity;
- Patrol buildings and premises on foot or in a vehicle to prevent intrusion and secure doors, windows, and gates;
- Conduct openings and closings of DAP Health areas and buildings;
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to maintain order and property safety;
- Respond rapidly to security emergencies;
- Respond to radio and security phone calls regarding reports and alerts;
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances;
- Notify authorities of unruly persons for removal from premises;
- Notify police or fire departments in emergencies;
- Participate as a Crisis Intervention Team member for staff crisis buttons;
- Monitor individuals on the BOLO list to prevent unauthorized presence;
- Assist patients, clients, or guests when requested;
- Complete reports on daily activities and irregularities;
- Inspect equipment and machinery for tampering evidence;
- Accept and account for DAP Health deliveries, contacting the relevant department;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read and write English;
- Knowledge of equipment, policies, and strategies related to security operations (preferred).
Education and Experience
- Active and unrestricted California Guard Card;
- Valid CA Driver's License with a clean record and current auto insurance;
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC;
- No prior experience required; training provided;
- Two years of security-related experience (preferred).
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds;
- Stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions frequently;
- Potential exposure to allergens/irritants and extreme temperatures.
