Job summary

Tanium is offering a Software Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 in a hybrid setup with Durham, NC and Emeryville, CA. Interns will work on real features for Tanium’s security-focused platform, under senior engineer mentorship, and with a peer intern buddy.

The program includes a structured path, intern events, and a final showcase to leadership. You will be assigned to frontend or backend teams, gain experience in a security-focused software company, and receive feedback on your work.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with GPA 3.5 or higher.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future.
• Available to work full-time from June 7, 2026 to August 13, 2026.
• Graduating Spring 2028 or Fall 2027.
• Experience delivering software development projects in backend and/or frontend languages and good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Be assigned to either a frontend or backend team, depending on ranking and project availability.
• Work on real features for Tanium’s platform as part of a security-focused product.
• Meet regularly with your 1-1 mentor.
• Demonstrate your work to the team at internship wrap-up.
• Participate in intern events and network with 70+ interns.
