Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Flex Officer at a corporate site in Johnston, RI. This part-time overnight role offers flexible shifts and a chance to build hands-on site experience across industries, with a start rate of $21.00 per hour and paid orientation.

Ideal candidates have one year of security experience or equivalent and must be able to operate radios, interact professionally with the public, and complete post orders with diligence. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background investigation conducted as a condition of employment.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• No prior experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for armed)
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Operate radio/telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Able to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; good note-writing ability.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Assess and evaluate situations quickly and accurately.
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Warn violators of rule infractions (loitering, smoking, etc).
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.
