Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineer for Chrome Networking Security. This role focuses on building secure web connections, TLS, and HTTPS in the Chrome stack.

You will work with Chrome Security teams to improve safety and performance across major platforms, with opportunities to contribute to post-quantum cryptography and web standards. Mountain View, CA or Cambridge, MA are preferred locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• 2 years of experience with software development in C++.
• 2 years of experience building software for Web Privacy or Security.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with other teams in Chrome Security and across Google.
• Manage and prioritize assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve safety, reliability, scalability and efficiency of the code base.
• Participate in security launch reviews or rotation programs.
• Design and implement features, metrics, and tools to make Chrome more secure and participate in code reviews.
