Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Network Security Engineer to design and secure the GEN network and related platforms. You will develop automation to enforce security policies and collaborate with customers, vendors, and deployment teams to deliver safe, scalable, and efficient network solutions.

You will influence security across Google’s global networking initiatives, drive risk reduction, and shape architectural patterns for reusable security components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting with network equipment providers.
• Experience with planning and designing networks across multiple sites/products.
• Experience with network security architecture, threat modeling, security assessment and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical direction, driving cross-functional teams to achieve significant organizational impact.
• Develop security framework, policies, standards and baselines for infrastructures and network designs to uplift security and reduce risks.
• Conduct threat modeling and security assessments for products and services to secure them and reduce risks.
• Experience in developing network and software technologies with awareness of security risks to recommend remediation to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead security programs and initiatives from inception to roadmap, milestones, and impact with resource and risk consideration.
