Job summary

Google Inc. in Mountain View, CA and Cambridge, MA is looking for a Software Engineer for Chrome Networking Security to address critical security challenges and advance web privacy.

You will apply your C++ expertise and experience in Web Privacy or Security to design and implement secure networking features, mentor teammates, and collaborate across Chrome teams.

The role emphasizes problem solving, security-focused development, and contributing to HTTPS adoption across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in C++.
• 2 years of experience building software for Web Privacy or Security.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Chrome Security, Chrome teams, and other Google teams.
• Manage and prioritize assigned tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the code we own.
• Participate in security launch reviews and rotations.
• Design and implement features, metrics, and tools to make Chrome more secure; participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
