Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an experienced Security Engineering Manager to lead the Secure Third Party Tools team. You will guide a group of security engineers focused on controls for external vendors and services, ensuring security standards are translated into scalable tooling.

You will partner with Product, Software Engineering, and Applied Science to maintain high security while enabling fast collaboration with 3P providers. This role emphasizes leadership and security expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading and growing security engineering teams.
• Proven track record implementing and operating security controls for complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of web services security, cryptography, network security protocols, and OS security.
• Experience applying threat modeling and risk identification techniques.
• Proven ability to translate security requirements into scalable tooling and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Security Engineers who define and enforce Amazon's third-party security controls.
• Set security vision and strategy for the team's domain and integrate into automated assessment systems.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align security requirements with roadmaps and features.
• Improve the feedback loop between manual reviews and automated outputs to reduce human intervention.
• Conduct threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and risk assessments for complex third‑party engagements.
• Develop and maintain security guidance, runbooks, and documentation for internal teams and vendors.
• Communicate security risks and priorities to leadership clearly and concisely.
• Track capacity, throughput, quality metrics, and backlog health to ensure operational excellence.
