Job summary

Horizon3, a leading remote cybersecurity company, seeks a Manager of Security Engineering to secure cloud and application environments and embed security into our software development lifecycle. You will lead Cloud Security Engineers and Application Security Engineers, driving incident response and strategic investments.

You will partner with engineering, infrastructure, and compliance to strengthen posture, mentor your team, and guide security practices across CI/CD pipelines and security

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• 5+ years securing AWS environments.
• 5+ years securing cloud-native systems and modern software delivery pipelines.
• Prior experience leading security engineers or serving as a technical lead in a security engineering function.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the Security Engineering team across Cloud and Application Security.
• Set priorities and operating rhythms for the team, balancing security investments with incident response.
• Design and implement security controls across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Monitor and improve cloud posture using GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS WAF, CloudTrail, and Inspector.
• Embed security into the SDLC with secure design reviews and threat modeling.
• Lead the application security program and secure coding practices.
• Maintain security testing tooling (SonarQube, Dependency Track, ZAproxy, Trufflehog, Trivy).
• Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated security testing.
