You will bridge strategic security vision with technical execution, empowering product and engineering teams to build fast without sacrificing security. This role emphasizes hands-on guidance, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration across DevOps and security disciplines.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive information security experience, with AppSec, DevSecOps, or cloud defense expertise.
• Experience managing and developing technical teams while delivering complex security projects.
• Deep mastery of secure software development practices, CI/CD protections, secrets administration, and application vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical guidance and architecture oversight for security challenges, with hands-on cloud defense configuration.
• Drive the evolution of application security and cloud posture initiatives throughout the software lifecycle.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a security engineering team, fostering ownership and technical rigor.
• Plan and execute security engineering initiatives from design through deployment, aligned with risk priorities.
• Collaborate with Product and DevOps to embed preventive security standards into roadmaps and workflows.
• Identify infrastructure vulnerabilities, remove roadblocks, and accelerate remediation across engineering domains.

Responsibilities

• Technical Guidance & Architecture: Provide direct technical oversight for complex security challenges, conduct thorough architecture reviews, and maintain active hands-on involvement with cloud defensive configurations.
• Program Direction: Drive the continuous evolution of our application security and cloud posture initiatives throughout every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and cultivate a dedicated team of security engineers, fostering a high-ownership culture focused on professional growth and technical rigor.
• Strategic Delivery: Plan, track, and execute security engineering initiatives from design through deployment, guaranteeing alignment with broader organizational risk priorities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product and DevOps leaders to embed preventative security standards directly into engineering roadmaps and development workflows.
• Risk Reduction: Proactively identify infrastructure vulnerabilities, remove operational roadblocks, and maintain momentum on remediation efforts across all engineering domains.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive information security experience, with specialized expertise in AppSec, DevSecOps, or cloud infrastructure defense.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing technical teams while successfully delivering complex security projects.
• Deep technical mastery of secure software development practices, CI/CD pipeline protections, secrets administration, and application vulnerabilities.
• Exceptional ability to translate high-level security frameworks into concrete engineering deliverables for both dedicated security staff and partner development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience configuring cloud-native security controls, including DSPM, CSPM, and workload protection solutions within AWS environments.
• Familiarity with automated application scanning methodologies (SAST/DAST/SCA) and IaC deployment frameworks (e.g., Terraform, cloud automation suites).
• Experience securing enterprise-grade web applications, business-critical administrative systems, or custom CRM platforms.
• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management across human users, non-human service accounts, and API access tokens.
