Job summary

SkySlope, Inc. in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to build and lead SkySlope's security engineering program. You will own the program design, drive execution, and stay hands-on to deliver practical security outcomes across cloud platforms and applications.

You will hire and mentor engineers, set standards, and collaborate with DevOps, IT, and product teams. This role emphasizes AI-enabled security tooling and governance, reporting directly to engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Senior/staff-level security engineering background with hands-on delivery.
• Ability to design and drive a security program from ambiguity to delivery.
• Cloud security expertise across IAM, federation, secrets management, secure SDLC, and detection/logging.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute SkySlope's security engineering program.
• Own the security roadmap across major domains and vendor decisions.
• Lead architecture/design reviews; contribute hands-on PoC, detection logic, and automation.
• Hire, coach, and grow the security team; build a culture where security is engineering work.
• Partner with DevOps, IT and product engineering; communicate with executives and set guardrails.
• Champion AI as a security force multiplier and define governance standards.
