Expedia Group is offering a Security Engineering Intern role in Seattle as part of its Global Summer Internship Program. You will work within an inclusive technical team to design and implement security-focused software, deploy applications, and contribute to multi-cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Familiar with programming concepts in at least one language (e.g. Java, C/C++, Python, C#).
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OOP concepts.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS).
• Knowledge of OS concepts (Linux/Windows).
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test security-focused software components and services.
• Deploy and manage applications in multi-cloud environments.
• Develop clean, secure code following best practices.
• Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling with a security focus.
• Identify and help fix security vulnerabilities or misconfigurations.
• Collaborate with security, software engineering, and infra teams to implement controls and guardrails.
• Learn and work with AI-driven security tools and workflows.
