Job summary

GuidePoint Security, LLC is seeking a curious Security Engineer to join the Corporate Information Security team, focusing on threat detection, threat intelligence, hunting, and event triage. You will help operate and improve automation-driven security operations, leveraging AI coding agents to build tooling and reduce manual work across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 5 years relevant experience, or BS/BA with 2 years relevant experience, or MS/MA.
• Experience triaging events with root cause analysis and timely escalation.
• Solid understanding of attack vectors, TCP/IP and core networking, and authentication concepts.
• Hands-on automation experience with LLMs/AI agents for tooling.
• Scripting in Python applied to security operations.
• Embraces emerging AI tools to work smarter and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and prioritize alerts, separate signal from noise, and drive incidents to resolution or escalation.
• Proactively search for adversary activity and tune high-fidelity detections.
• Translate intel into detections, hunts, and response actions to reduce risk.
• Build tooling and automation code with AI coding agents and review for safe deployment.
• Contribute to detection-as-code and runbooks to improve coverage and repeatability.
• Collaborate with peers and internal customers to share knowledge and raise the bar.
• Participate in rotating on-call to support incident response outside standard hours.
