Job summary

Sierra Central Credit Union in Yuba City, CA, is seeking a Security Engineer to build and operate its cybersecurity program, protecting information systems, data, and networks while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management.

You will implement Microsoft 365 security controls (Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune), manage email security and DLP, lead incident response, support risk reviews, and mentor staff across IT and business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of four years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience in a Microsoft-centric environment.
• Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions.
• Experience with incident investigation, security event analysis, and response activities.
• Experience administering email security platforms and phishing awareness programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365 E5 security and compliance solutions (Defender XDR, Entra ID, Intune, Purview).
• Configure security controls for SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and data loss prevention.
• Administer enterprise email security technologies (anti‑phishing, anti‑malware, SPF/DKIM/DMARC).
• Lead phishing simulation and security awareness training programs.
• Assist with incident investigations, containment, remediation, and post‑incident reporting.
• Coordinate with MDR providers and security partners for monitoring and threat detection.
