Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to design, pilot, and implement logging, alerting, and threat-hunting workflows across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, leverage AI tools to automate threat detection, ensure production-ready security, and drive incident response with a focus on BeyondCorp architecture and cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a technical field; years of experience acceptable in lieu
• Strong Python and/or Go development skills
• Experience in forensics, malware analysis, intrusion detection, or threat intelligence
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern security tooling

Job description

• Design, pilot, and implement logging and alerting systems for endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments
• Build tools and devise automation strategies to improve threat hunting and intrusion response
• Investigate events generated by the alerting pipeline and triage potential incidents
• Use AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services
• Uphold rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality
• Collaborate with multiple Snap Inc. teams during incidents and drive response efforts
• Identify, analyze, fingerprint, and build threat intelligence on adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures spanning APTs and cybercrime

Requirements

• Proven experience in one or more of: digital forensics, malware analysis, incident management, host/network intrusion detection, or threat intelligence
• Proficiency in or strong aptitude for leveraging AI tools to streamline development and auditing generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks
• Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools
• Strong development skills in Python and/or Go
• Advanced knowledge of operating system internals
• Core competency in two or more of: macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field; or Master's degree in a technical field; or PhD in a relevant technical field
• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s security-related experience, or 5+ years of post-graduate security-related experience with a Master's degree, or 2+ years of post-graduate security-related experience with a PhD
• Knowledge of threat hunting and developing logic to automate threat detection and incident response
• Familiarity with cloud-based services and infrastructure, including Google Cloud, Workspace, and AWS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
• Practical experience in a BeyondCorp model
• Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
