Job summary

Akuna Capital LLC is seeking a Security Engineer II to safeguard systems, data, and assets. You will proactively identify vulnerabilities, hunt threats, automate workflows, and drive incident response using AI-enabled tooling.

You’ll secure the firm’s growing AI ecosystem and participate in red/blue team exercises to strengthen incident response capabilities. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments and continuous security improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience protecting enterprise systems, infrastructure, and data
• Experience with security operations, threat detection, incident response, and enterprise security principles
• Experience securing cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP) and cloud‑native controls
• Scripting to automate tasks (PowerShell, Python)
• Strong documentation and collaboration with technical and business teams

Responsibilities

• Analyze security incidents using MITRE ATT&CK to improve detection
• Respond to incidents from MSSP and internal controls with effective triage
• Manage security infrastructure: IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, MFA, email security
• Develop threat hunting by analyzing logs and intelligence
• Create telemetry signals across enterprise apps and cloud services
• Automate security workflows and incident response processes
• Lead red/blue exercises to test and improve incident playbooks
• Coordinate vulnerability management and remediation with owners
• Collaborate with MSSP for threat detection rules and event correlation
• Identify security blind spots and improve monitoring across departments
• Support ongoing operation of security infrastructure and user awareness training
