Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking a Security Engineer I to join our Information Security team.

You will manage security solutions across cloud and on-prem environments, collaborating with IT Security, Infrastructure, and App teams to embed security into technology solutions. We value strong technical foundations, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn and grow within a cybersecurity engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT, or equivalent.
• 2+ years in information security engineering or IT security.
• Experience in security solution administration and design.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls.
• Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Experience with Tenable, SIEM, EDR, IAM, PAM, DLP, firewalls.
• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP; hybrid identities.
• Strong problem solving and ticket analysis skills.
• Knowledge of standards: NIST CSF, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI, SOX, NYDFS.
• Excellent communication; able to present recommendations.
• Certs such as CISSP, OSCP, GIAC are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of security solutions aligned to enterprise strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as technical administrator across network, endpoint, cloud, identity, and app layers.
• Assist in operation of security technologies ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Conduct routine vulnerability scans and remediation tracking.
• Maintain security tools and technologies to stay up to date.
• Assist with evidence collection for audits and regulatory requirements.
• Operationalize new security tools, platforms, and services.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure secure system and application processes.
• Support incident response activities and monitor SLA-driven queue.
• Help develop and maintain security standards, policies, and procedures.
