Job summary

State of Oklahoma's OMES seeks a Security Engineer to strengthen enterprise security across infrastructure, systems, and data environments. You will design, implement, and mature security tooling and vulnerability management while aligning with statewide standards.

The role partners with operations, service groups, and external partners, stays current on cybersecurity trends, and contributes to strategic roadmaps and reports to improve the organization's security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Security+ certification required.
• 6 years of security experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 10 years.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security engineering designs and implementations across infrastructure and data systems.
• Validate security requirements, definitions, and analyses.
• Develop statewide security standards and roadmaps.
• Coordinate information security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
• Research current security technologies and trends.
• Oversee technology solutions and product roadmaps; address escalations from Operations.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver security services and participate in Blue Team exercises.
• Manage Azure/Entra AD security-related policy and improve vulnerability management.
