Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services company, is seeking a Security Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile team in Richmond, VA. You will design, implement, and maintain security controls for cloud infrastructure, applications, and sensitive data, while aligning with federal standards and ATO processes.

You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and security leadership to document requirements, perform risk assessments, and drive remediation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least four years of relevant experience in compliance, identity management, networking, systems, and cloud security.
• Federal work experience and formal ATO/change-control experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 RMF and A&A/ATO processes; familiarity with FIPS/FISMA and Zero Trust.
• Hands-on exposure to Okta and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions and architectures for cloud and data.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks via threat modeling and vulnerability analysis.
• Document audit and security requirements; conduct walkthroughs and support ATO.
• Develop POA&Ms and monitor compliance with cybersecurity policies.
• Automate security workflows including key management and certificate rotation.
• Evaluate risk using Splunk, SIEM, and related tools; support detection and incident response.
• Conduct data classification and research emerging threats and technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to balance security with delivery velocity.
