Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Systems Engineer to lead enterprise IT design across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments. The role emphasizes secure integration, lifecycle management, and optimization in alignment with DOE cybersecurity requirements.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, drive automation through scripting, and coordinate with cybersecurity, operations, and application teams to ensure outages are managed and services stay resilient.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of IT or systems administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and documentation of enterprise IT solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
• Development of secure integration plans, configuration baselines, and architecture artifacts.
• Provide engineering oversight for major initiatives, ensuring timely coordination, risk mitigation, and issue escalation.
• Champion lifecycle integration practices, ensuring adherence to SC-approved methodologies and DOE cybersecurity requirements.
• Act as an escalation point for complex systems issues requiring advanced troubleshooting and specialized insight.
• Coordinate engineering support during major outages, degraded services, and scheduled maintenance events.
• Ensure seamless collaboration with cybersecurity, operations, and application teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.
• Actively engaged in planning and designing of new platforms and integrating new technologies into existing infrastructure. Evaluates new technologies and releases.
• Actively participate in innovation initiatives that enhance scalability, resilience, and security across SC’s IT systems.
• Effectively creates and maintains relevant systems documentation and user guides.
• Acts as a mentor to junior team members by providing guidance and expertise on troubleshooting unique or complex problems.
• Applies scripting methodologies to automate related tasks.
