Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Security Engineer to join Information Security. You will design, build, and run security software and infrastructure that protects SpaceX systems, networks, and data, with emphasis on identity services, cloud policy, and scalable security controls.

You will collaborate across IT, legal, HR, and software teams, document everything, and ship changes that reduce risk. Candidates need a CS degree or 2+ years in security software, and experience with Python, Go, C#,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or STEM field or 2+ years of security software development experience.
• Experience with Python, Go, C#, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain technology that protects SpaceX systems, networks, and data.
• Stand up authentication and identity services, MFA, and network access control.
• Automate identity lifecycle for Information Security and partner organizations.
• Run backend infrastructure that security services depend on.
• Operate web application firewalls and other application-level security controls.
• Enforce cloud security policy, centralized configuration, and monitoring.
• Document what you run and advise other teams.
• Find threats and gaps with security/IT and ship risk-reducing changes.
• Deliver scalable, repeatable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
• Coordinate with information security, physical security, IT, HR, legal, software, and other partners.
