SpaceX is seeking a Security Engineer (Software) to join Information Security and help protect the SpaceX mission. The role writes and operates the software and infrastructure behind SpaceX security standards, collaborating across IT, security, legal, HR, and software teams to enforce strong protection of systems and data.

You will design and run security features for authentication, access control, and backend services, while ensuring scalable, maintainable, and secure deployments across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional security software development experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Python, Go, C#, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or enterprise-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain technology that protects SpaceX systems, networks, and data.
• Stand up authentication and identity services, MFA, and network access control.
• Automate identity lifecycle for Information Security and partner orgs.
• Run backend infrastructure that security services depend on.
• Operate web application firewalls and other app-level security controls.
• Enforce cloud security policy, configuration, and monitoring.
• Document what you run and advise other teams.
• Find threats and gaps and ship changes that reduce risk.
• Deliver scalable, repeatable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
