Job summary

Etched is seeking a Security Engineer to protect networks, systems, and applications supporting AI hardware development. You will design, implement, and operate monitoring, detection, and response infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to build secure by design, scalable security posture while enabling velocity and innovation. The role combines hands-on depth with automation, focusing on threat detection, incident response, and security

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of security engineering or similar roles.
• Strong programming for automation and tooling.
• Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms; detections and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and harden security baselines across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud systems.
• Integrate telemetry, logging, tracing, and management for observability.
• Lead vulnerability management, patching, and configuration assurance.
• Partner with infrastructure, IT, and application teams to strengthen identity, access, and network security using Okta, Google Workspace, and FreeIPA.
• Implement zero-trust architectures, SASE, CASB, and conditional access controls.
• Operate and enhance security tooling (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR).
• Develop and tune detection logic and playbooks for threats.
• Investigate security incidents with root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Build automation and integrations to streamline monitoring and response.
• Establish dashboards to measure detection coverage and response time.
